Among the prominent names, BJP national president Nitin Nabin took oath after moving to the Upper House following his resignation from the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Union Minister Ram Nath Thakur was also sworn in after being re-elected from Bihar.

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi was among those who took oath, representing Telangana, along with party colleague Vem Narendra Reddy.

From Bihar, Upendra Kushwaha (RLM) and Shivesh Kumar (BJP) were also sworn in. Assam was represented by BJP leaders Terash Gowalla and Jogen Mohan, along with Pramod Boro of UPP-L.
