Bengaluru: Punjabi singer Karan Aujla has been asked to exclude several songs from his performance at a scheduled concert in Bengaluru today, following directives issued by local authorities over concerns related to children’s well-being.

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) in Bengaluru issued a formal notice restricting the performance of six songs during the event. The action comes in response to a complaint filed by Prof. Pandit Rao Dharennavar from Chandigarh.

According to officials, one of Aujla’s popular tracks, “Gangsta,” has been specifically prohibited from being performed under any circumstances. Authorities have also instructed local police to ensure that the order is strictly followed during the concert.

The decision has been taken with the stated aim of protecting minors from exposure to content that may have an adverse psychological impact. The DCPU emphasized that public events must remain sensitive to audiences of all age groups, particularly children.

While there has been no official response from the singer or his team so far, the move has sparked discussion around artistic freedom and content regulation at live performances.

The show is expected to go ahead as planned, albeit with modifications to the setlist in compliance with the directive.
