New Delhi: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi concert, originally scheduled for November 1, has been rescheduled to October 30, 2026. The show is part of his Aura India Tour and will take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.
The date change comes after Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney appealed to the singer and the organisers to move the concert because November 1 marks the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence. The appeal highlighted the painful memories associated with the date for families affected by the violence.
BookMyShow confirmed the revised date on its social media handle. The concert has not been cancelled, and existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance. <Cite refs={[“turn255854search13″,”turn255854search0”]}/>
Why Was Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi Concert Rescheduled?
The original concert date, November 1, coincides with the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence, which followed the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.
On Saturday, October 10, Sahney publicly appealed to Diljit and the concert organisers to consider changing the date out of respect for the victims and their families.
In his message on X, the MP described Diljit as “Punjab’s pride” and “India’s voice to the world”, while pointing out that the anniversary remains a painful day for thousands of Sikh families.
Sahney stressed that his appeal was not against the concert or the singer’s contribution to Punjabi music and culture. Instead, he urged the organisers to acknowledge the continuing grief of families who lost loved ones during the violence. <Cite refs={[“turn255854search0″,”turn255854search3”]}/>

What Did Vikramjit Singh Sahney Say About The Date Change?
Sahney had asked Diljit and the organisers to move the November 1 concert to another date, citing the grief that the anniversary continues to bring to families affected by the 1984 violence.
The rescheduling follows that public appeal. It allows the concert to proceed on a different date while acknowledging the significance of November 1 for the victims’ families.
