MATHURA, March 20, 2026 — President Droupadi Murmu is currently on a three-day spiritual and developmental visit to the holy cities of Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. On Friday morning, the President visited the Radha Keli Kunj Ashram to meet with the revered saint Premanand ji Maharaj and listen to his spiritual discourse. The President’s visit to the Braj region highlights a blend of personal devotion and state commitment to regional welfare. Upon her arrival at the Cantt helipad on Thursday evening, she was received with a warm welcome by Governor Anandiben Patel, along with several state ministers and senior officials, marking the commencement of her extensive itinerary in the state.
The second day of her visit is packed with significant spiritual and philanthropic engagements across Vrindavan. Later today, President Murmu is scheduled to pay floral tributes at the ‘Samadhi’ of the legendary saint Baba Neeb Karori. Her journey through the sacred town will also include visits to the Udiya Baba Ashram and the historic Davanal Kund. A major highlight of Friday’s schedule is the inauguration of a new Oncology Block at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, a charitable hospital in Vrindavan. Following this, she will visit Vatsalya Gram, an institution known for its unique model of community living and child welfare.
The final day of the tour, March 21, will see the President traveling to Govardhan for a series of traditional rituals. She is scheduled to have a ‘darshan’ and participate in the morning ‘aarti’ at the famous Danghati Mandir. In keeping with the traditions of the region, the President will also undertake the Govardhan Parikrama, a sacred circumambulation of the holy hill. This follows her initial engagements on Thursday, where she visited the ISKCON temple and Prem Mandir, witnessing the popular laser show and performing evening rituals at the Radha Krishna temple to seek blessings for the nation.
