Amritsar: The Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has revised the timing of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s scheduled appearance at the Akal Takht on January 15, moving it from the morning hours to late afternoon. According to an official communication issued by the Takht Secretariat, the Chief Minister will now appear at 4:30 pm instead of the earlier announced 10:00 am.

The decision was conveyed through a formal letter released by the Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat, headquartered in Amritsar. The communication states that the change in timing has been made in view of administrative and logistical considerations linked to the day’s religious schedule at the Akal Takht Sahib, the highest temporal seat of Sikh authority.

Sources indicated that the rescheduling is aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of religious proceedings and maintaining decorum at the historic Sikh institution, which witnesses a steady flow of devotees and official engagements throughout the day. The Secretariat clarified that while the timing has been altered, the date and purpose of the Chief Minister’s appearance remain unchanged.

The proposed appearance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at the Akal Takht has drawn considerable public and political attention. The Akal Takht, established by Guru Hargobind Sahib in 1606, holds immense religious and moral authority in Sikh affairs and often plays a significant role in addressing issues related to Sikh institutions, governance, and public conduct.

Officials from the Takht Secretariat reiterated that all arrangements would be made in accordance with Sikh maryada (religious code of conduct), and the revised timing has been duly communicated to the Punjab government to avoid any inconvenience.

The development comes amid heightened interest in the interaction between the state leadership and Sikh religious institutions, making Mann’s visit closely watched by religious bodies and political observers alike
