New Delhi: The International Cricket Council and JioStar have jointly denied reports claiming that the Indian broadcaster has pulled out of its media rights agreement, stating that their partnership remains unchanged and fully operational.
In a clarification issued on Saturday, both organisations said the existing contract continues in force, with JioStar retaining its role as the ICC’s authorised broadcast and media rights holder in India. The statement was released in response to recent media speculation that suggested the company was reconsidering the deal due to financial pressures.
The ICC and JioStar stressed that there has been no disruption to planning or execution related to upcoming international tournaments. Preparations for major events, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, are moving ahead as scheduled, they said.
Officials also assured advertisers, partners and cricket fans that television and digital coverage will proceed without interruption. Advertising commitments and operational arrangements remain unaffected under the current agreement.
Reaffirming their collaboration, the two organisations said they remain focused on delivering seamless, high-quality cricket coverage to audiences across India. They added that the partnership continues to play a key role in expanding the reach of international cricket in the country.
