Jodhpur: Six people lost their lives and 14 others were injured early Sunday when a tempo carrying pilgrims collided with a grain-loaded trailer on the Jodhpur–Balesar stretch of National Highway 125. The crash occurred near Khari Beri village, police said.
The tempo was transporting around 20 pilgrims from Banaskantha and Dhansura in Gujarat. They were travelling to the popular pilgrimage site of Ramdeora when a speeding trailer coming from the opposite direction struck their vehicle, Balesar SHO Moolsingh Bhati said.
Three women died on the spot along with three other passengers. Their bodies were taken to the Balesar hospital mortuary. The 14 injured were initially taken to a nearby hospital before being referred to MDM Hospital in Jodhpur for advanced treatment, officials said.
