Top Iranian Commander Warns Washington of Devastating Response as Conflict Intensifies

Tehran: In a sharp escalation of rhetoric amidst ongoing regional hostilities, the commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Major General Ali Abdullahi, has issued a severe warning to Washington. He declared that any military aggression will be met with a decisive and devastating response by the Islamic Republic’s armed forces. In an official statement broadcast by state media, Abdullahi condemned the United States, characterising it as a treacherous enemy that has shifted its focus toward internal subversion after consecutive defeats on the battlefield. The commander vowed to fortify internal solidarity between the public and state officials while expanding the resistance to impose heavier financial and military costs on American actions.

Translating the aggressive rhetoric into immediate kinetic action, the Iranian military announced that it had launched targeted kamikaze drone strikes against two United States military installations in Kuwait. The operations targeted a US military ammunition depot at Camp Udairi alongside the Patriot radar and air surveillance systems at the Ali Al Salem Air Base. The Iranian offensive followed a fresh round of American airstrikes conducted early Sunday morning, which targeted an area near Sirik on the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The Pentagon stated that its operations were launched to swiftly punish forces responsible for a lethal drone and missile attack on a military outpost in Jordan on Friday, which killed two American service members, left one missing, and hospitalised four others. According to US Central Command, these retaliatory strikes were explicitly intended to degrade Iran’s ability to restrict maritime movement through the corridor, which previously accounted for nearly 20 per cent of the world’s oil supplies.

The diplomatic framework has completely unravelled alongside these military engagements. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, informed state television that Tehran has formally suspended its commitments under the recently signed Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. Gharibabadi asserted that the US had breached its obligations under the interim accord, rendering it invalid. The collapse of the ceasefire has triggered immediate defensive measures across neighbouring Gulf nations as the conflict increasingly puts vital civilian infrastructure at risk. Iranian strikes in Kuwait hit a petroleum facility and a water desalination plant, forcing several power generation units offline and injuring emergency workers. In response to the widening threat, Kuwait temporarily suspended its airspace, Jordan’s air defence units intercepted multiple incoming missiles, and air raid sirens were activated repeatedly across Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
