Three Wounded in Times Square Shooting; Teen in Custody

New York – Three people were shot and wounded in New York’s Times Square early Saturday, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said.

The victims – an 18-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, and a 65-year-old man – are in stable condition in hospital.

A 17-year-old male suspect is in custody, and police have recovered a firearm. The shooting occurred at around 1:20 a.m. ET following a verbal altercation with one of the victims, the NYPD said.

It is not yet known whether the suspect and the victims knew each other.
