New York [US]: A mass shooting at a restaurant in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighbourhood left three men dead and eight others injured early Sunday, according to the New York Post.
Police said officers responded to emergency calls shortly before 3:30 a.m. after multiple gunmen opened fire inside the establishment. The deceased have been identified as two men aged 27 and 35, while the age of the third victim remains unknown. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed that at least 36 shell casings were recovered from the scene. No arrests have been made so far, and the suspects are yet to be identified. The investigation is ongoing.
The incident comes just days after a shooting near Times Square on August 9, when a teenage gunman injured three people following a dispute. Crowds scattered in panic as gunfire erupted near the Hard Rock Cafe. Police arrested the suspect at the scene and recovered a firearm.
The two shootings have heightened concerns about rising gun violence across New York City, with police intensifying patrols in high-traffic areas.
