Balochistan: Pakistan’s security forces have claimed a major success in Balochistan after eliminating dozens of militants and arresting three senior commanders during a large-scale intelligence-led operation in the province.

Officials said the operation has been underway since May 13 in the Mangla Zarghoon Ghar region, where forces launched coordinated action based on intelligence inputs regarding militant hideouts.

According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, at least 35 militants have been killed over the course of the four-day offensive.

He said three senior commanders described as high-value targets were also taken into custody during the crackdown.

Authorities stated that the operation targeted members of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan along with affiliated proxy groups allegedly active in the region.

Security personnel reportedly conducted extensive search-and-clearance missions across difficult mountainous terrain to flush out militants believed to be operating from concealed bases.

Officials said the operation involved precise intelligence gathering and coordinated ground action to minimise risks to civilians while neutralising armed resistance.

The government has described the development as a significant blow to militant infrastructure in Balochistan, a region that has frequently witnessed insurgent activity and security operations.

No official figures regarding casualties among security personnel were immediately released.

The detained commanders are expected to be interrogated further as investigators attempt to trace operational networks, support systems and possible links to recent militant attacks in the province.

Authorities believe the arrests could provide critical intelligence about future threats and the organisational structure of the banned groups.

Security has been tightened across nearby districts as forces continue combing operations to locate any remaining suspects.

The latest offensive reflects Pakistan’s continuing efforts to dismantle militant networks and restore stability in areas facing long-standing security challenges.
