New Delhi: Amid continuing instability in West Asia due to the ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran, Indian carriers have reworked their flight schedules to maintain connectivity while ensuring passenger safety. A total of 66 flights have been planned for Tuesday by Air India Group and IndiGo.

The Air India Group, which includes Air India and Air India Express, has scheduled 36 flights, with a significant portion—around 20—being non-scheduled or ad hoc services. These flights are being operated with necessary approvals from Indian and UAE aviation authorities, depending on operational conditions and slot availability.

Key destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah will be served through these special flights. Connections to Dubai will primarily operate from Delhi, while Abu Dhabi will be linked with cities like Mumbai, Kozhikode and Mangaluru via Air India Express. Sharjah will also see limited services connecting cities like Amritsar and Kannur.

However, certain routes remain suspended due to the volatile situation. No flights are currently planned for Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Dammam, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, or Tel Aviv. In Oman, flights to Muscat will continue as scheduled, but services to Salalah have been halted.

Meanwhile, IndiGo has scheduled 30 flights across the region, connecting major Indian cities—including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Bengaluru—with destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Muscat.

Despite disruptions in West Asia, Air India clarified that its long-haul international operations to North America, Europe, and Australia remain unaffected. The airline also confirmed that passengers impacted by cancellations are being offered flexible options, including free rescheduling or full refunds.

Airlines are continuing to rely on dynamic planning and special clearances to navigate restricted airspace, as the evolving geopolitical situation keeps flight operations under constant review.
