Vadodara: Vadodara witnessed another heartbreak for Delhi Capitals and a night of celebration for Royal Challengers Bengaluru as RCB lifted their second Women’s Premier League title with a commanding six-wicket win on Thursday.

Chasing a daunting total of 204, Bengaluru produced a batting masterclass, anchored by skipper Smriti Mandhana, who played a sparkling knock of 87 from just 41 deliveries. She found a perfect partner in Georgia Voll, whose composed 79 off 54 balls ensured the chase stayed firmly on course. The duo stitched together a sensational 165-run partnership for the second wicket, setting a new benchmark in a WPL final.

RCB reached the target with two balls to spare, finishing at 204 for four in 19.4 overs, and once again denied Delhi their maiden title despite another strong campaign.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals had put up an imposing 203 for four after being asked to bat. Laura Wolvaardt provided early momentum with a brisk 44 off 25 balls, while captain Jemimah Rodrigues held the innings together with a fluent 57 from 37 deliveries. Their efforts gave Delhi what appeared to be a match-winning total on a good batting surface.

However, Bengaluru’s response was clinical. After an early setback, Mandhana and Voll seized control, dismantling the Capitals’ bowling attack with a blend of aggression and calculated strokeplay.

The victory underlined RCB’s growing dominance in the league, while Delhi Capitals were left to reflect on another final that slipped away despite a competitive performance.
