AJNALA — A somber atmosphere has descended upon the village of Miadian following a horrific road accident on the Ajnala-Chogawan road on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, which resulted in the instantaneous death of a local resident. The victim, a stonemason by profession, was returning home from Harike Pattan in Tarn Taran district when the tragedy occurred.
According to eyewitness accounts and family members, the victim’s nephew had travelled to Harike Pattan on a motorcycle to bring his uncle back to the village. As the duo reached the Chogawan Road stretch near Ajnala, a recklessly driven, high-speed truck reportedly swiped their motorcycle from the side. The impact caused the older man to lose his balance and fall directly under the heavy wheels of the moving truck, leading to his immediate demise at the scene. The nephew managed a narrow escape, surviving the collision with minor injuries.
Local police officials reached the spot shortly after the incident, taking custody of the truck and detaining the driver for further questioning.
