Chandigarh – In what authorities described as a significant strike against narco-terror networks, Sri Muktsar Sahib Police have arrested two men and seized 4 kilograms of heroin. Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed the development on Friday, calling it the outcome of a carefully coordinated two-month intelligence-led operation.
According to officials, the crackdown was based on specific inputs, and a case has already been registered against the accused. The DGP stated that investigators are now working to dismantle the broader network, focusing on both its supply sources and distribution channels. He emphasized that the arrests mark only the beginning of a larger probe aimed at exposing the entire chain of drug trafficking in the region.
Yadav also highlighted the importance of consistent intelligence gathering in such operations and said Punjab Police remain committed to targeting those fueling the state’s drug menace.
