Chandigarh: Trouble has deepened for the family of Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who is currently lodged in jail in a disproportionate assets case. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has now summoned his wife and legislator, Ganieve Kaur Majithia, for questioning in the same matter.
Majithia was earlier arrested on allegations of possessing assets beyond his known sources of income. The Vigilance Bureau, which is continuing its investigation, has now extended the probe to include his wife.
According to sources, the summons were issued recently, even during government holidays, highlighting the seriousness with which the Bureau is pursuing the case.
