Chandigarh: Punjab is witnessing a steady drop in temperatures as winter conditions tighten their grip across the state. The Meteorological Department has reported that the likelihood of rainfall in the coming days remains minimal, with dry weather expected to prevail.

Night temperatures have fallen noticeably, dipping below 10°C in most regions. Over the past 24 hours, minimum temperatures have decreased by 0.6°C, adding to the growing winter chill. Light fog may appear in some pockets today, but there is no alert for rain or severe weather.

The department has indicated that night temperatures will continue to fall. From November 28 onwards, most areas in Punjab are expected to record minimum temperatures between 4°C and 6°C. However, parts of Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Patiala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana and Mohali may see slightly higher night temperatures, ranging between 6°C and 8°C.

Southern and southwestern Punjab are likely to experience lower-than-normal temperatures, while other regions may observe temperatures slightly above the seasonal average.
