Punjab Sees Relief as Skies Clear After Days of Heavy Rainfall

Chandigarh: Punjab witnessed clear skies and calm weather today, offering much-needed respite after days of continuous rainfall that had triggered flood-like conditions in several districts. According to the Meteorological Department, no rain alerts have been issued for the state until September 12.

Officials noted that most regions will experience stable weather in the coming days, providing relief to farmers and residents who had been coping with waterlogging and damage caused by persistent downpours. While the possibility of light showers in isolated pockets remains, no heavy rainfall or storms are expected.

The improved conditions are set to accelerate relief and rehabilitation measures in areas worst hit by flooding, especially Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, and nearby districts where rivers overflowed and infrastructure suffered damage. Authorities said restoration work is progressing, and displaced residents are gradually returning to normal routines.

Though the immediate threat has eased, officials have urged citizens to remain vigilant and follow safety measures until the situation stabilizes completely.
