Punjab Mourns as Comedy Legend Jaswinder Bhalla Given Final Farewell in Mohali

Mohali: Renowned Punjabi comedian and actor Jaswinder Bhalla was given an emotional farewell today as his mortal remains reached his residence from Fortis Hospital, where he passed away on Friday following a brain stroke. He was 65.

The body was brought home by ambulance and kept for a while to allow relatives, friends, and admirers a chance to pay their last respects. A sea of mourners gathered outside his Mohali home, reflecting the immense love and admiration Bhalla had earned throughout his career.

Several noted film personalities and political leaders were present to bid him goodbye. Among them were actress Neeru Bajwa and veteran artist Amar Noori, who joined the grieving crowd to pay homage to the comedy icon.

Born on May 4, 1960, in Doraha, Ludhiana, Jaswinder Bhalla carved a unique place in Punjabi cinema with his sharp wit, relatable humor, and unforgettable comic timing. His passing marks the end of an era in Punjabi entertainment, leaving fans and colleagues with cherished memories of his performances on screen.

Bhalla’s cremation is scheduled to take place later today in Mohali.
