FARIDKOT: Residents of Punjab woke up to cooler nights this weekend, with the lowest temperature recorded at 5°C in Faridkot, while daytime temperatures remained close to seasonal averages, the Meteorological Center reported.

On Saturday, the state’s average maximum temperature rose slightly by 0.2°C, bringing it near normal levels. Bathinda recorded the highest daytime temperature in the state at 30.1°C. In contrast, the average minimum temperature fell by 0.4°C, placing it 2.6°C below the seasonal norm, signaling a noticeable chill during early mornings and nights.

The IMD predicts that night temperatures will continue to dip in the coming days, with lows expected to hover between 6-8°C in northern and southwestern districts and 8-10°C elsewhere. Daytime highs are likely to remain stable, ranging from 24-26°C in the northern and eastern regions and 26-28°C across the rest of Punjab.

Forecasters also noted that rainfall chances in the state this week are minimal, with clear skies expected across most districts. “Maximum temperatures will be near normal, while minimum temperatures will remain below average,” the IMD said. “Residents should be prepared for cooler nights, even though daytime conditions will feel comfortable.”

Overall, the state is expected to experience mild winter conditions, with cold nights contrasting the relatively warm days, making early mornings and late evenings feel particularly chilly.
