Anandpur Sahib (Punjab): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during a special session of the Vidhan Sabha held at Anandpur Sahib, introduced a resolution to declare Amritsar (including the Darbar Sahib corridor), Anandpur Sahib, and Talwandi Sabo as holy cities.

The proposal seeks a complete prohibition on the sale and consumption of meat, liquor, and tobacco within these locations. It also recommends creating a Sarv Dharam Committee in each town, consisting of representatives from different faiths to promote interfaith harmony.

According to the resolution, the Punjab government will provide dedicated funds to enhance infrastructure and preserve the sanctity of the three cities. The state will also request financial assistance from the Union government to support these development efforts.

After the Chief Minister tabled the resolution, members of the House began deliberations on the proposal.
