Chandigarh – Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Cabinet held a meeting today and approved several major decisions. Following the meeting, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora briefed the media on the details of the announcements.

A special court will be set up in Mohali, comprising both session and additional session judges, to handle National Investigation Agency (NIA) cases.

The government will also recover the cost of encroached government land and pathways. Committees under the District Commissioner will be formed to assess and collect these dues.

For defaulter borrowers, a one-time settlement (OTS) scheme has been approved, under which penalties and interest will be waived. Defaulters will also be allowed to pay in three installments.

In matters related to Goods and Services Tax (GST), the OTS offer will benefit nearly 20,000 traders, providing relief from pending dues and easing compliance.
