Amritsar: Amritsar Commissionerate Police have busted an organised arms and hawala network, arresting three operatives allegedly linked to cross-border illegal weapons supply. The operation led to the recovery of ten sophisticated firearms, including three PX5 .30 bore pistols, three Glock 9mm pistols, one Beretta 9mm pistol, three .30 bore pistols, along with ₹2.5 lakh in hawala money.

According to officials, preliminary investigation indicates that the accused were in contact with Pakistan-based handlers through social media platforms to procure and circulate illegal weapons. Police suspect the arms were intended to disturb peace and harmony in Punjab. An FIR has been registered at Gate Hakima Police Station in Amritsar, and further investigation is underway to trace the wider network and identify cross-border connections.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to dismantling narco-terror and organised crime syndicates, stressing that such operations remain a top priority to ensure Punjab’s security.
