Pathankot: The Pathankot Police have dismantled a significant cross-border espionage network with the arrest of a suspect who was allegedly transmitting sensitive Indian intelligence and live video footage to handlers based in Pakistan. Operating on a precise tip-off that immediately alerted high-level security agencies, law enforcement personnel set a strategic trap and apprehended the individual in the Sujanpur area of Pathankot.

The illicit activities of the accused posed a severe threat to national security. Investigations revealed that the suspect had installed unauthorized CCTV cameras along National Highway 44, specifically positioned between Bridge Number 4 and Bridge Number 5 in Sujanpur. This setup allowed him to stream live, real-time visual data of crucial infrastructure and vehicular movements directly to his cross-border handlers. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Pathankot, the espionage was driven by a conspiracy to procure contraband, as the suspect was working in exchange for receiving narcotics.

Further police disclosures indicate that the arrested individual was not operating alone. He was part of a four-member module, with three remaining associates actively involved in coordinating the setup and dealing with anti-national elements abroad. Local authorities have registered a formal case and launched a comprehensive investigation to trace the financial and narcotic links of the network, with more arrests and revelations expected shortly as interrogations continue.
