Muktsar: Authorities in Muktsar were on high alert Friday morning after a threatening email prompted the immediate evacuation of the district administrative complex (DAC). The communication, reportedly sent to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, claimed that three bombs had been planted inside the premises.
The warning triggered widespread concern, especially as the town is still witnessing an influx of visitors following the conclusion of the Maghi Mela yesterday. Employees, officials, and members of the public who were present in the building were instructed to leave immediately. The complex has been ordered to remain closed until 2 pm as a precautionary measure.
A team of police personnel, led by the Superintendent of Police, arrived at the site and began a thorough search of the building and surrounding areas. Senior officials assured that all standard security procedures were being strictly followed while the threat is being verified.
No explosives have been found so far, and investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the email and assess its credibility. Residents and visitors in the vicinity have been advised to remain calm and cooperate with authorities.
