Jalandhar Police Bust Drug Network, Arrest Two with 80 Grams Heroin and ₹2.05 Lakh Drug Money

Jalandhar: The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police achieved a major breakthrough in their crackdown on drug trafficking by arresting two suspects and recovering heroin and drug money from their possession. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Police Commissioner Dhannpreet Kaur, led by DCP (Investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon, ADCP Jayant Puri, and ACP (D) Amarbir Singh.

A CIA Staff team headed by Inspector Surinder Kumar carried out the action on December 4 near the Focal Point area. The team detained two men on suspicion, who were later identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Sajan and Prabhjot alias Prabh, both residents of Preet Nagar, Sodal Road, Jalandhar.

During the search, police recovered 80 grams of heroin and ₹2,05,000 believed to be drug money. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 21, 27-A, and 61-85 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Division No. 8. Officials also revealed that Gurpreet Singh alias Sajan has a previous NDPS case registered against him.

Police stated that questioning is underway to trace forward and backward links of the drug network, and assured that strict action against drug traffickers will continue in the coming days.
