Harjinder Singh Dhami Re-Elected SGPC President for Fifth Consecutive Term

Amritsar— Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has been re-elected as President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the fifth consecutive term, securing 117 out of 136 valid votes in the poll held at Teja Singh Samundri Hall. His opponent, Mithu Singh Kahneke, received 18 votes while one vote was declared invalid.

Under Dhami’s leadership, other key office-bearers were also elected: Raghujit Singh Virk as Senior Vice-President, Baldev Singh Kalyan as Junior Vice-President, and Sher Singh Mandwala as General Secretary.

This election reflects Dhami’s continuing support within the SGPC’s General House, thereby reinforcing the backing from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leadership.

Supporters describe the victory as a reaffirmation of faith in the current leadership’s direction for the SGPC’s role in Sikh religious administration.
