Ferozepur: Ferozepur Police on Friday arrested Sonu Singh, a resident of Habibwala, and recovered 15.775 kilograms of heroin from his possession in a swift, intelligence-based operation.

Initial investigations indicate that the smuggling network was being run by an accused lodged in Kapurthala Jail, while the seized consignment was pushed into India by Pakistan-based traffickers.

Police have registered an FIR and launched further investigations to trace the wider network and its local linkages.

Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug syndicates and strengthening efforts to build a safer, drug-free state.
