Bathinda: Dismissed Punjab Police senior constable Amandeep Kaur, who is lodged in jail, was rushed to the Civil Hospital after her health suddenly deteriorated, officials said.

According to sources, Kaur complained of severe stomach pain. She was initially treated at the jail hospital, but when her condition did not improve, she was shifted to the Civil Hospital for further medical care.

Kaur had earlier been arrested by Bathinda Police after being allegedly caught with a large quantity of heroin. Following the recovery, Punjab Police dismissed her from service.

Although she was later granted bail in the drug trafficking case, the Vigilance Department subsequently booked her in a disproportionate assets case, under which she remains in jail.
