Ferozepur – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday visited flood-affected areas of Ferozepur, personally reviewing the devastation caused by the swelling Sutlej River. In a rare move, the CM boarded a boat to reach submerged villages and directly interacted with residents.
Mann visited Gatti Rajo, one of the worst-hit villages, where he met families stranded by rising waters. Listening to their concerns, he assured them of immediate government aid and long-term rehabilitation measures.
The Chief Minister also chaired a review meeting with officials on-site to monitor relief and rescue operations. He instructed authorities to speed up the distribution of essential supplies, emphasizing that every affected family must receive timely assistance.
Inspecting the Sutlej banks, Mann held discussions with officials on the root causes of the flooding and measures to mitigate future risks. He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening flood management systems and protecting vulnerable communities.
