Centre Announces MSP Hike for Rabi Crops, Farmers to Gain  Rs 84,263 Crore

New Delhi: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday announced that the Cabinet has approved an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the upcoming Rabi season.

Addressing the media, the minister said the revised MSP will bring direct benefits worth ₹84,263 crore to farmers across the country. He added that procurement for the 2026-27 Rabi season is projected to touch 297 lakh metric tons, and farmers will be compensated accordingly under the new support price structure.

The government has stated that the decision reflects its commitment to ensure fair returns for farmers and to strengthen agricultural income security.
