Centre Allows Sikh Jatha to Visit Pakistan Amid Earlier Restrictions

New Delhi: The Modi government has granted permission for a Sikh jatha to travel to Pakistan, sources and a News18 report confirmed.

Previously, the Centre had not allowed such visits. Earlier this year, Sikhs were scheduled to visit Sri Nankana Sahib in Pakistan on the occasion of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji’s Parkash Purab, but the government had imposed restrictions preventing the pilgrimage.

The recent approval marks a significant change, allowing devotees to undertake the religious journey to the historic Sikh site across the border.
