Chandigarh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has obtained a nine-day remand of Krishnu Sharda, a close aide of former Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, in connection with an ongoing bribery case.

Sharda, who was arrested by the agency in the same case, was produced before the court earlier today. While the CBI had sought a 12-day remand to continue interrogation, the court granted nine days instead.

Sources said the investigation aims to uncover the extent of Sharda’s role and possible links to other officials in the alleged bribery network. The case pertains to corruption charges against Bhullar, who was earlier taken into custody for allegedly accepting bribes in exchange for official favors.

Further developments in the case are awaited as the CBI continues its probe.s probe.
