Chandigarh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday conducted a raid at the office of DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar and arrested him in connection with a bribery case.

According to initial information, the CBI team caught Bhullar, who is posted as DIG of the Ropar Range, red-handed while accepting a bribe. However, officials have not yet confirmed the exact amount of money involved in the case.

Sources revealed that the arrest was made during a trap operation set up by the CBI. The agency reportedly carried out the raid and subsequent arrest from Bhullar’s office in Chandigarh.

The investigation is said to be linked to a case involving a scrap trader from Mandi Gobindgarh. Reports suggest that the CBI may soon issue an official press release, and the arrested officer is likely to be presented before a special court later today.
