Amritsar —A shocking case has emerged in Amritsar district where a man allegedly married another woman without divorcing his first wife. Distressed by the incident, the woman, identified as Kanwaljit Kaur, reached the office of the Police Commissioner with the support of the Bhagwan Valmiki Seva Society and submitted a memorandum demanding justice.

Kanwaljit Kaur alleged that she married her husband five years ago through a love marriage solemnized at a gurdwara. The couple has a three-year-old daughter. However, in recent days her husband had been missing from home. When the family searched for him, they reportedly discovered that he had secretly married another woman without informing or divorcing her.

The woman claimed that her in-laws are supportive of her, yet her husband went ahead with the second marriage and has since absconded. She has appealed to the administration to take strict action and ensure justice. Meanwhile, the Bhagwan Valmiki Seva Society has also demanded that authorities intervene and provide relief to the victim.
