Samana: A tragic incident occurred in the village of Badanpur, Samana, early Saturday morning when a ten-year-old boy was viciously attacked by a pack of stray dogs. The victim, identified as Priyas, was on his way to fetch milk at approximately 7:00 AM when the animals suddenly swarmed him. The pack inflicted multiple deep bites on the child’s neck, ears, and back, leaving him in a critical condition before onlookers could chase the animals away. Following the assault, the boy was immediately rushed to the Samana Civil Hospital for emergency medical attention.
Medical professionals at the Civil Hospital provided initial first aid but determined that the severity of the wounds required more advanced intervention. Consequently, Priyas has been referred to a specialized hospital in Patiala for further treatment. The boy’s father, Rahul, who is originally from Badaun in Uttar Pradesh and works at a local brick kiln, expressed deep shock over the incident as he waited for updates on his son’s condition.
The attack has sparked significant outrage and fear among the local population. Residents, including Amritpal Singh, highlighted that the stray dog menace in the area has been escalating due to unsanitary practices. A nearby dry canal has reportedly become a gathering point for aggressive dog packs because some individuals have been using it as a dumping ground for animal carcasses. This has created a persistent danger for farmers working in nearby fields and for families whose children must walk through the village. Local leaders are now calling on the administration to take immediate action to manage the stray dog population and to strictly penalize those responsible for illegal carcass disposal.
