Pune: A training aircraft operated by a private aviation academy made an emergency landing near Baramati in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Wednesday morning after suffering a technical problem mid-flight. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident.

According to police officials, the aircraft, belonging to Redbird Flight Training Academy, went down near Gojubavi village close to the Baramati airstrip around 8:50 am. The trainee pilot, who was the only person on board, managed to escape safely with no major injuries.

Pune Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill said initial findings suggest the aircraft was flying at a relatively low height when the pilot experienced a mechanical issue. During the emergency landing attempt, a portion of the aircraft allegedly struck a light pole before hitting the ground.

Local police teams and emergency personnel reached the site soon after receiving information about the mishap. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the malfunction and assess the extent of the damage.

Officials also noted that aircraft linked to the same training company have been involved in previous incidents in the district, raising concerns over operational safety standards. Further inquiry into the matter is currently underway.
