New Delhi: Days after calling off the 37-day-long agitation over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has thanked supporters across the country, describing the movement as a landmark moment for India’s youth while asserting that the organisation’s journey has only just begun.
In a video message shared on social media, Dipke said the conclusion of the protest brought a sense of relief after weeks of uncertainty, pressure and continuous mobilisation.

He remarked that, for the first time in over a month, he was able to return home and rest peacefully without constantly worrying about the next phase of the protest. According to him, the past 37 days had been emotionally and physically demanding, not only for himself but for the entire team involved in the campaign.
Dipke credited the success of the movement to thousands of students and supporters who stood by the organisation despite criticism and skepticism. He said their faith and commitment made it possible to sustain the nationwide campaign and eventually secure what he described as an important victory for young people.
The CJP leader also revealed that he could not personally meet supporters who remained at Jantar Mantar after the protest ended because he had been diagnosed with typhoid and was suffering from a high fever. Expressing regret, he thanked those who continued to participate in the demonstrations and said their contribution would be remembered.
Interestingly, Dipke also acknowledged those who had questioned the movement. He said criticism helped the organisation improve its approach and strengthen its resolve, adding that constructive scrutiny played a role in shaping the campaign.
Calling the end of the agitation “the beginning of a larger mission,” Dipke said the CJP would continue raising issues affecting students and young citizens across the country.
The protest concluded after the Centre held discussions with CJP representatives following weeks of demonstrations over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. The movement coincided with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, after which the organisation announced the withdrawal of its sit-in at Jantar Mantar.
According to CJP leaders, the government agreed to consider financial assistance for families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide, review legal cases registered against peaceful protesters and examine a five-point proposal aimed at reforming the country’s examination system. Another round of discussions is expected in the coming weeks.
The agitation had gained national attention after activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the campaign and undertook a 26-day hunger strike. Following the government’s assurances, Wangchuk welcomed the outcome, calling it a positive step for democratic engagement.
Echoing Dipke’s remarks, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the organisation would continue working on issues related to education, governance and youth welfare, insisting that the movement marked the start of a much larger campaign rather than its conclusion.
