Noida: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Ravindra Kishore Sinha, popularly known as RK Sinha, has passed away in Noida. The former parliamentarian was also the founder of Security and Intelligence Services (SIS), one of India’s major private security and business support services companies.
Sinha’s death was reported on Friday, October 30. Further details, including the cause of death and funeral arrangements, were not immediately available.
Born in Bihar, Sinha had a long association with the BJP and was among the party’s early members. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2014, representing Bihar, and served in the Upper House of Parliament until April 2020.
Apart from his political career, Sinha was known for building SIS Group into a major security services company. He established the organisation in 1974, initially with a small team, with the aim of creating employment opportunities for former servicemen after the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
Sinha’s professional journey also included journalism. According to his official biography, he began his career as a journalist, covering crime and political affairs, and worked as a war correspondent during the 1971 conflict. He later became an entrepreneur and was involved in several industry and social initiatives.
His death marks the loss of a figure who had a presence in both Bihar’s political landscape and India’s private security industry.
