Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reached Dehradun to conduct an aerial survey of flood-affected districts in Uttarakhand.

On his arrival at Jollygrant Airport, Modi was received by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Following the aerial survey, the Prime Minister will chair a high-level meeting to assess the extent of damage and review relief measures in the disaster-hit regions.

The Prime Minister flew in from Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, after holding talks with Mauritian counterpart Navinchandra Ramgoolam. Earlier this week, Modi had undertaken a day-long visit to Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, where he conducted aerial surveys of flood-ravaged areas and reviewed the situation on the ground.

During his Punjab visit, the Prime Minister announced ₹1,600 crore in assistance for flood relief, in addition to the ₹12,000 crore already allocated to the state.
