Karnal: In a dramatic turn of events, MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra managed to escape from police custody on Tuesday, several reports claimed, citing sources. The incident took place while he was being taken to the local police station.
According to sources cited by several reports, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and his associates opened fire on the police team during the transfer.
The group used two vehicles to escape — a Scorpio and a Fortuner. Police later intercepted and seized the Fortuner, but the MLA managed to escape in the Scorpio.
A large police team has been deployed, and a chase is underway to track down the legislator and his aides.
