New Delhi: Popular folk singer Maithili Thakur officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, just weeks before the Bihar Assembly elections. The singer was welcomed into the party fold by state president Dilip Jaiswal at an event held in Patna.
The move comes only days after Thakur expressed her willingness to enter active politics. She had recently stated that she was open to contesting the upcoming assembly elections if the party offered her a ticket.
