New Delhi — In a move to ease festive travel and manage the anticipated passenger rush, Indian Railways has introduced a Round Trip Package scheme offering a 20% discount on return tickets ahead of Diwali.

Under the scheme, passengers must book both onward and return tickets simultaneously, with identical passenger details, train class, and origin–destination pair for both journeys. The offer applies across all classes and special (on-demand) trains, excluding flexi-fare trains, and requires the same booking method — either online or at a reservation counter.

The travel period for onward journeys is from October 13 to October 26, 2025, while return trips must fall between November 17 and December 1, 2025. Tickets booked under the scheme will be non-refundable, non-changeable, and cannot be clubbed with other concessions or coupons.
