Nuh: A fatal road accident on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway claimed the lives of five personnel from the Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday morning in Haryana’s Nuh district.
The incident took place near the Dhulawat toll plaza, within the jurisdiction of Tauru Sadar police station, around 10:30 am. Authorities said the victims were travelling in a Mahindra Scorpio and were en route toward Palwal when the accident occurred.
Preliminary findings suggest that the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle at high speed but lost control of the SUV, leading to a violent collision with a vehicle ahead. The impact was devastating, leaving the vehicle severely damaged and trapping all occupants inside.
Emergency responders and local police teams arrived swiftly after being alerted. Rescue efforts proved challenging as the bodies had to be carefully extricated from the mangled remains of the vehicle.
Officials confirmed that all five deceased were serving personnel posted in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district. Their identities are being verified, and efforts are underway to inform their families.
Station House Officer Sheeshram Yadav stated that an investigation has been launched to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the crash. Authorities are also examining factors such as speed, road conditions, and possible negligence.
The tragic loss has once again raised concerns over high-speed driving and road safety on expressways, especially near toll zones where traffic patterns can change abruptly.
