Delhi: Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain was brought to the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) office by a team of ACB officials and Delhi Police on Tuesday, a day after his arrest in an alleged corruption case.
Jain was taken into custody on August 18 in connection with a case concerning alleged irregularities in the tendering process for the augmentation and upgradation of sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Delhi.
The investigation centres on alleged manipulation of the tender process related to the city’s sewage treatment infrastructure. Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the awarding and handling of the contracts.
Following his arrest, Jain was brought to the ACB premises as part of the ongoing investigation. The agency is expected to question him further and examine the allegations and evidence connected with the case.
The matter relates to projects aimed at improving sewage treatment capacity in the national capital. Further developments in the case are expected as the investigation progresses.
The allegations against Jain remain part of an ongoing investigation and have not been established as guilt by a court.
