Delhi: A fire incident was reported on Wednesday morning at the official residence of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Member of Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad in central Delhi, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

Officials from the Delhi Fire Services said they received an alert at approximately 8:05 am about a blaze at the residence located on Mother Teresa Crescent Marg. The fire was confined to a room where household furniture had caught flames, officials added.

Three fire engines were dispatched to the location and managed to bring the situation under control within about half an hour. The fire was fully extinguished by around 8:35 am, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the house.

No injuries were reported, and authorities have not confirmed whether the Patna Sahib MP was present at the residence when the fire broke out.

The exact cause of the incident remains unclear. A forensic team from the Delhi Police was called in to examine the site and determine what triggered the fire. Further investigation is underway.

Officials said damage appeared to be limited, and there was no immediate threat to nearby properties.
