Pune: Passengers on an Akasa Air flight from Pune to Bengaluru were asked to leave the aircraft on Tuesday after a technical issue was detected in the Boeing 737 MAX plane shortly before departure, sources said.

The flight, scheduled to depart from Pune at 8:50 am, had completed boarding by around 8:10 am. Passengers remained seated inside the aircraft for nearly 90 minutes before being deplaned, according to one traveller on board.

“Akasa Air flight QP1312 to Bengaluru was held up at Pune airport. The aircraft had been boarded and was preparing for takeoff when a technical issue was noticed at the last minute. Eventually, all passengers were asked to disembark,” the passenger told PTI.

At the time of reporting, the airline had not announced a revised departure time. An Akasa Air spokesperson was unavailable for comment.

No reports of injuries or further disruptions have emerged, but the incident caused significant inconvenience for passengers who had already boarded the flight.
