Supreme Court Collegium Recommends 14 Advocates for Judgeship in Bombay High Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the names of 14 advocates for appointment as judges of the Bombay High Court.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the Collegium chaired by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai on Tuesday.

“The Supreme Court collegium in its meeting held on August 19, 2025 has approved the proposal for appointment of the following advocates as judges of the High Court of Bombay,” the Collegium resolution stated.

The Collegium cleared the names of advocates Nandesh Shankarrao Deshpande, Amit Satyavan Jamsandekar, Ashish Sahadev Chavan, Vaishali Nimbajirao Patil-Jadhav, Abasaheb Dharmaji Shinde, and Farhan Parvez Dubash for elevation.

In a separate resolution, the Collegium also approved the appointment of advocates Siddheshwar Sundarrao Thombre, Mehroz Ashraf Khan Pathan, Ranjitsinha Raja Bhonsale, Sandesh Dadasaheb Patil, Shreeram Vinayak Shirsat, Hiten Shamrao Venegavkar, Rajnish Ratnakar Vyas, and Raj Damodar Wakode as judges of the Bombay High Court.

The recommendations will now be forwarded to the Union government for approval and formal notification.
