New Delhi: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk joined protesters at Jantar Mantar on Saturday in support of a demonstration organised by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, where participants demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The protest attracted a large gathering of students, young professionals and supporters from different parts of the country. Demonstrators raised concerns over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment processes, calling for accountability and reforms in the education sector.

Amid the protest, Delhi Police detained six individuals as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential confrontation between rival groups. According to police officials, intelligence inputs had indicated the possibility of tensions between supporters and opponents of the online movement.

Authorities said the individuals were taken into preventive custody after they were allegedly found attempting to disrupt the gathering near the protest venue. The action was taken to maintain law and order and ensure that the demonstration remained peaceful.

Police officials confirmed that the situation remained under control throughout the event and no untoward incident was reported.

The protest, spearheaded by Abhijeet Dipke, witnessed significant participation from students who voiced concerns over recent controversies surrounding examinations and recruitment tests. Protesters reiterated their demand for the resignation of the Education Minister and called for greater transparency in the country’s education system.

With Sonam Wangchuk’s presence adding visibility to the demonstration, the protest remained one of the most talked-about public gatherings in the national capital on Saturday.
