New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has authored a new book titled “Apnapan,” offering a personal look at his thirty-year journey working alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The minister made the announcement on Thursday, noting that the work is a culmination of his observations regarding the Prime Minister’s leadership and governance style across various roles and responsibilities. The book is scheduled for an official release in New Delhi on May 26, marking a rare instance of a sitting Union Minister publishing a detailed account focused on a serving Prime Minister.
In his announcement, Chouhan described the project as an attempt to capture the specific emotions, inspirations, and values he encountered during his long tenure in public life alongside the Prime Minister. He characterised Modi not just as a global leader but as a dedicated “karamyogi” whose life is defined by penance and discipline. The narrative promises to go beyond mere political rhetoric, focusing instead on the organisational abilities and the deep sense of national service that Chouhan believes defines the Prime Minister’s approach to administration.
The Union Minister expressed his hope that the book would serve as a source of inspiration for the younger generation, encouraging them to engage in nation-building activities through service and empathy. By highlighting how small, dedicated efforts can lead to significant societal changes, Chouhan intends to illustrate the importance of patriotism and public welfare. He emphasised that the title “Apnapan” reflects a sense of belonging toward the citizens of India, a theme he views as central to the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed nation.
As the political circles in the capital prepare for the book’s launch at the end of the month, “Apnapan” is expected to provide unique insights into the internal dynamics of the government and the evolving nature of Indian political leadership. The work documents a journey of shared struggles and discipline, aiming to provide a roadmap for those aspiring to contribute to India’s growth. With the release date set for late May, the book is already generating significant interest among policy analysts and the general public alike.
